The GR® 99 is a long-distance hiking trail that winds through the Provençal countryside, linking picturesque villages and exceptional natural sites.

It crosses varied landscapes, blending pine forests, rocky ridges, and peaceful lake shores, offering hikers a full immersion in the preserved nature of Provence.

Among the iconic sites on the route, the Gorges du Verdon stand out, with their vertiginous cliffs plunging into turquoise waters, offering spectacular panoramas. Further along, the lakes of Artignosc and Sainte-Croix punctuate the trail, bringing freshness and ideal resting spots. The path also follows ancient transhumance routes, witnesses of the region’s pastoral past, and passes through fragrant garrigue areas, where thyme, rosemary, and lavender scent the air.

Remarkable Flora and Fauna
The flora and fauna are remarkable here: you can spot storks, majestic birds of prey such as the griffon vulture, and a great variety of Mediterranean plants, from evergreen oaks to centuries-old olive trees. Along the trails, it is not uncommon to see roe deer, wild boars, or ocellated lizards, an emblematic species of the region.
